Here is a brief synopsis of what I have done for others, and from which you can profit as well:
- I have made presentations to executive management, explaining a complicated problem, selling them on the solution, and getting their support for committing resources.
- I have led and coordinated the efforts of multiple teams, ensuring a shared approach to a global issue.
- I have liaisoned between I.T. and non-I.T. audiences, Sales and Operations audiences, executive and rank-and-file audiences, regional and corporate audiences, and audiences focused on details and audiences focused on concepts.
- I have led system application development projects (from the customer side), including vendor management, user testing scripts, component selection logic, GUI development, cost-benefit analysis and post-implementation review.
- I have managed the efforts of multiple levels of staff, including production and analytical staff, as well as subordinate supervisors.
- I have negotiated directly with external customers.
- I have represented my company with external audiences, including legislative advisory committees, industry trade groups and lay public.
- I have interpreted complex legislation, regulation and legal decisions and communicated them to various audiences.
- I have developed, communicated and installed new policy.
- I have built and produced highly-complex documents from scratch.
- I have filed documents and reports with regulatory agencies.
- I have designed entire departments, including job descriptions, tangent processes, work-flow protocols and internal interrelationships. I have also completely reengineered departments to reflect changing realties.
- I have designed benefit-communication tools for lay public and coordinated printing vendors.
- I have also created and managed a company bowling league and a company bicycling team (the latter eventually being used to support marketing efforts.)
